Webflow, Squarespace, Wix and others

Where to paste the chat's line on the website builders that allow it, and what to do on the plans that don't.

Before you start, on every builder

  1. On the Chat page, copy the line under Put it on your site.
  2. Add your site's address to Websites allowed to embed. List each address the site answers on: the builder's own address (such as https://yoursite.webflow.io) as well as your domain, if you want the chat on both.
  3. After you paste the line, publish the site: builders add your code to the published site only, never to their preview.

Website builders change their menus from time to time. If a step below has moved, search the builder's help for "custom code" or "code injection". If your plan does not allow code at all, use the chat link instead.

On these builders every visitor is anonymous to the chat: recognising a signed-in customer needs a signature made on a server you control (Signed-in visitors).

Webflow

  1. Open Site settings → Custom code.
  2. Paste the line into Footer code and save.
  3. Publish the site.

Webflow shows the custom code fields on paid site and workspace plans.

Squarespace

  1. Open Code Injection. In recent versions it is under Website → Pages → Custom code.
  2. Paste the line into Footer and save.

Squarespace allows code injection on its higher plans, not on the entry plan.

Wix

  1. In your site's dashboard, open Settings → Custom Code and press Add Custom Code.
  2. Paste the line, choose All pages and place it in Body - end.
  3. Save, then publish the site.

Wix allows custom code on a published site with its own domain connected, which needs a paid plan.

Ghost

  1. In Ghost admin, open Settings → Code injection.
  2. Paste the line into Site footer and save.

BigCommerce

  1. Open Storefront → Script Manager and press Create a Script.
  2. Give it a name, choose Footer for its location and Store pages for where it runs.
  3. Choose Functional as its category and Script as its type, paste the line and save.

If your store shows a cookie banner, a functional script runs once the shopper has accepted functional cookies, so some shoppers will not see the chat until then.

Framer

  1. Open Site Settings → General → Custom Code.
  2. Paste the line into End of body tag and save.
  3. Publish the site.

Framer adds custom code on paid site plans.

Other sites

On a site you build yourself (static pages, Astro, Hugo, Jekyll and the like), paste the line into the shared footer or layout that every page uses. On Next.js and other apps, see In your app.

If the chat doesn't appear, see Troubleshooting.
