Freemius
On Scale, connect Freemius so the chat and your team can see a customer's own licences and sites.
What it does
- For a signed-in visitor, the chat reads their own licences and sites by the address your site vouched for, and answers from them: their plan, the sites in use, and when it renews. It never does this for an anonymous visitor or for an email's sender.
- In the inbox, a customer's page shows their licences and sites in Freemius under Their account in Freemius. Click the customer's name in a conversation to open it.
- On Scale, the AI can also propose account actions, with the steps to carry them out in Freemius.
Apart from a licence key resend your team has approved (below), it only reads from Freemius. Licence keys are never shown.
Connect it
- On the Integrations page, an admin finds the Billing section.
- Fill in Developer ID, Product ID, Developer public key (pk_…) and Developer secret key (sk_…). In Freemius they are under My Profile, then Keys.
- Press Save and test.
The keys are tested against Freemius before anything is kept. They are stored encrypted and never shown again. Disconnect removes them.
Product API token
The same section has a place for a Product API token (in Freemius: your product, then Settings, then API & Keys). It is used only to resend licence keys that your team has approved. The page says whether approving "Resend their licence key" sends it through Freemius or gives you the steps to do it by hand. Remove the token removes it.
If something goes wrong
If a customer's page says Freemius is not connected, or did not answer, check that the keys are still connected, and try again later. Freemius is on Scale only: on other plans, none of this is used.
