Forwarding from Gmail or Google Workspace

Forward your support address from Gmail, and confirm it with the code Swaru passes on.

Before you start, make sure your company has a team email: Gmail's confirmation code is sent there.

Steps

  1. Copy the forwarding address from the Email page.
  2. In Gmail, signed in as your support address, open Settings, then See all settings, then Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  3. Choose Add a forwarding address, paste the forwarding address and continue.
  4. Gmail emails a confirmation to the forwarding address. Swaru passes it to your team email as "Confirm forwarding your support address", with the confirmation code and an Or confirm it on Google button. On the Email page it shows as Forwarding check.
  5. Enter the code in Forwarding and POP/IMAP and verify it, or press the button in the email.
  6. Choose to forward a copy of incoming mail to the forwarding address, then Save Changes.
  7. Send a test from an address outside your company and check the Email page.

If the code doesn't arrive

Swaru passes on only the code and Google's own confirmation link, and only when the message shows it really came from Google. Nothing else in it reaches your team.

If your company had no team email when Gmail sent the confirmation, nobody received the code. Once you have a team email, remove the forwarding address in Gmail and add it again to get a new one.

Google Workspace

If forwarding is missing or won't save in a Google Workspace account, your Workspace admin may have turned off automatic forwarding for your organisation. Ask them to allow it.
